Our Services
We at Bienville Animal Medical Center are proud to offer the most current, up to date services for all your pet's needs.
Our office offers full diagnostic imaging services. We can take x-rays to show both bone and organ abnormalities. Ultrasound provides a movie-like image of the inside of the body. This will show us both abdominal and heart abnormalities.
We are able to perform complete in-house laboratory and diagnostic testing. For example, complete blood counts, chemistry panels, and urinalyses as well as testing for certain infectious and endocrine diseases can be performed on site.
We are proud of our state-of-the-art surgery suite. When major surgery is performed on your pet, it is done using sterile technique, injectable and/or gas anesthesia, and the use of a technician as an assistant. We employ full-time surgical technician. All sedated patients receive an endotracheal tube and an intravenous catheter to ensure the utmost in patient saftey. We conform to AAHA-standards, and deliver the most current surgical care to our patients. During surgery, monitoring can be done with pulse oximetry, respiration, temperature and blood pressure montoring. Our surgical procedures include the more general types such as ovariohysterectomies, neuters, and declaws; or more specialized surgeries such as orthopedic, ophthalmic, exotic animal procedures, and cancer surgeries.
Pets have teeth, too!! We offer a full dental cleaning visit, including ultrasonic scaling and polishing, as well as more advanced dental procedures. A full array of at home dentistry care products is available as well. This includes animal toothpaste, toothbrushes, enzyme releasing treats for cats and dogs, and special dental diets.
Preventive health care for your pet is very important.
We recommend yearly veterinary check-ups and vaccinations for your pet. Exotic animals need special care, too. Please check out our Your Pet Page for full details on your favorite pet.
Emergencies: In case of emergencies arising after normal business hours on weeknights, on weekends or on holidays, simply call our office number at 872-1231. We also utilize the services of the Gulf Coast Veterinary Emergency Hospital in Woolmarket, an all-night care facility for after we close. If you call our telephone number after hours our service will direct you there if immediate care is needed.
Boarding: We board animals on a first-come, first-serve basis. Each animal is kept in an individual sleep and play area unless otherwise requested (there are suites available for multiple pet households). Cats and dogs are kept in separate boarding wards. And, we also have a special boarding area for birds, ferrets, and exotic animals requiring special attention. Dogs are exercised outdoors daily. We have a special cat exercise room for those feline boarders. All areas are washed, sprayed with virucide, and dried several times daily. We are pleased to medicate pets boarding for any medical problem they may have under current treatment, including special diets. Otherwise, we feed our boarding patients premium foods while boarding. Please call our office to learn more about our boarding facility and policies.
